Getting Started

Counter Online is a simple web application for managing multiple counters. Here's how to get started:

Click the Add New Counter button to create your first counter.
Use the + and - buttons to increment and decrement the counter value.
Click on the counter name (initially "Unnamed") to edit it.
New counters get a default color (initially Indigo), which can be changed later.
Use the three dots menu button (⋮) on a counter to access more options.

Features

Multiple Views

Switch between Card View and List View using the view style dropdown in the control bar.

Counter Settings

Click the three dots menu button (⋮) on a counter to:

Set a specific counter value
Change the increment/decrement step size
Choose a specific color for that counter
Reset the counter to its initial value (usually zero)
Delete the counter

Dark/Light Mode

The app respects your system's preferred color scheme (light or dark) by default. You can also manually override this using the dedicated / toggle button usually located near the page controls.

Counter Colors

Personalize each counter with a distinct color to help organize them:

Available colors: Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, Purple, Pink, Indigo, and Gray.
Each counter can have its own color, selected via its settings menu (⋮).
Colors are maintained even when switching between light and dark mode.
You can set the default color for newly created counters using the dedicated dropdown menu in the main control bar (visible on the home page).

Counter Limit

You can create and manage up to 15 counters simultaneously.

Offline Support

Counter Online works offline thanks to Progressive Web App (PWA) technology! Your counters are saved locally in your browser and will be available even without an internet connection. You can also install the app on your device for quick access:

On Desktop: Look for an install icon (often a computer with a downward arrow) in your browser's address bar.
On iOS: Use Safari, tap the "Share" icon, then scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen".
On Android: Using Chrome/Edge, tap the browser menu button (⋮) and select "Install App" or "Add to Home Screen".

Counter Online is fully keyboard accessible for power users and accessibility. Use these shortcuts to work efficiently:

Troubleshooting

Lost Counters

If your counters disappear, it may be due to browser data being cleared. Counter Online stores data in your browser's localStorage.

Issues in Dark Mode

If you experience visibility issues in dark mode, try switching to a different theme and back to resolve the issue.

Keyboard Shortcuts Not Working

Ensure no text input has focus when trying to use keyboard shortcuts. Click outside any input field first.

PWA Installation Issues

If you can't install the app on your device:

Make sure you're using a supported browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, etc.)
Try visiting the site directly (not from a link)
Ensure you have a stable internet connection during the first installation
